The $15 Chargeback Fee
If a buyer disputes a payment and the dispute is decided against you, a one-time $15 fee applies.
What it is
When a buyer disputes a charge with their bank — a "chargeback" — and the dispute is decided in the buyer's favour, StoneFjord charges the seller a one-time $15 fee. It covers the cost the dispute creates for the platform.
It only applies to a lost dispute
The $15 is charged only when a dispute is resolved against you. If the buyer withdraws the dispute, or it's resolved in your favour, there is no fee. It's a flat $15 per lost dispute, whatever the order was worth.
How it's collected
The fee is charged automatically to the card you have on file with StoneFjord at the time the dispute closes — you don't need to do anything. If there's no card on file, the fee can't be collected and is recorded as unpaid.
It's separate from the sale itself
The $15 is a fixed fee for handling the dispute — it's in addition to the disputed payment, and it doesn't change with the size of the order.
You're all set!
